There was very heavy trading volume on Laredo Petroleum (LPI) this morning. Keep an eye on that one, as heavy trading on the smaller companies is sometimes an indication of a takeover.
The Large-Caps like companies that have big acreage blocks in areas where they already operate. LPI is a pure play on the Permian Basin and I think they are also attractive because of their unique development method.
