Meet Robert Rapier in the video at this link.

Robert is a new EPG member who adds a lot of energy sector knowledge to this group.
BTW I talked to Robert a couple of weeks ago. He is very bullish on natural gas and believe the price could run up to $4.00 this coming winter.

he says 5c/kwh for solar--that has to be with gov't subsidies. he approaches pure silicon crystals as if that is a recent development. well, semiconductor industry would not exist w/o pure silicon develped first by TI in the fifties.

My knowledge of solar is near zero. IMO since the U.S. has an abundant supply of clean burning natural gas, having solar panels on top of your home is more of a "fad". The amount of electricity that we get from wind and solar will continue to grow, but it will never come close to amount we get from gas, coal and nuclear plants. "Never" is a long time, so let's just say "in my life time", therefore I don't care.

Ditto, plus birds, which I do care about, are getting fried by the tens of thousands when flying over solar farms. Kind of like Leonardo di Caprio taking a private plane to France to accept an environmental award.

I also hear that wind farms are killing lots of bats, which could lead to a serious insect problem. Mankind must come to the realization that there is no "free" energy. All of this comes with a price. IMO clean burning natural gas makes the most sense, but we will never get the idiots in Washington to admit that.
