Newsletter for June 13

My goal is to publish the next edition of The View From Houston on Monday. I know I am a week behind, but it has been hectic around here since Susan's mother died on June 1. This edition will focus on the small-caps. I wanted to take a hard look at all of the companies in our Small-Cap Growth Portfolio before I started on the newsletter. You may have noticed that I am updating all of their forecasts.
JONE, LPI and REI are being added to the portfolio.
They call them "cycles" for a reason. Oil, natural gas and NGL prices are now firming up. The outlook for natural gas has really gotten a lot better in just the last two weeks.
In the first few months of the "rebound period", the Wall Street gang pumps money into the larger companies like our Sweet 16. Next they will put more into the small-caps when they are sure the companies will survive. By doing our homework, it is the small-caps were we can get a lot of doubles. 2nd quarter results are going to be MUCH BETTER than Q1 results, which should draw a lot of attention from the fund managers.
In the last cycle, it was the 4th quarter of 2010 when the small-caps just took off. Some of you may remember that GPOR went up 2,000% for us.
