A stacked/staggered infill pilot program is underway
in the Mid-Continent. Four wells will target the
Meramec, staggered between upper and lower
zones, at 10 wells per section. Four wells will target
the Woodford at nine wells per section. Completions
won’t come until the latter end of the year though.
Management continues to test longer laterals and
upsized proppant volumes. Larger completions in
the Upper Wolfcamp in Culberson County have
provided a ~35% uplift to the old design. Upsized
fracs in Eddy County have generated a ~70% uplift to
the original completion designs.
My take: Cimarex has one of the top engineering teams in the industry. Their work in STACK should result in increased EURs for all of our STACK companies (CLR, NFX and DVN).
