Sweet 16 Update - April 1
Posted: Fri Mar 31, 2017 6:01 pm
All of the Sweet 16 stocks moved higher during the week ending 3/31/2017, thanks to an improving outlook for oil & gas prices. My "gut feeling" is that we have seen the bottom in the last little pullback for oil prices. IEA and many others now see global demand exceeding oil supply in Q2.
The Sweet 16 move up 6.82% last week and is now down just 6.69% YTD. About 1% of the improvement is because I added CPE & CRZO and removed NBL & SM.
The S&P 500 Index moved up 0.84% and is now up 6.69%. Investors sure got over the fact that the GOP could not "Repeal and Replace Obamacare" fairly quickly. Economic data came out that indicates the economy is growing despite the idiots we have in Washington. Can you imagine how great America could be if we actually had a functioning government? If tax rates are lowered it would really help the economy.
To see my valuation compared to First Call's price target for each company, download the Sweet 16 spreadsheet from the website to Excel. You can also view it on the website.
All of the Sweet 16 profiles and forecast models are up-to-date.
Over the last two weeks, I have focused on our Small-Cap Growth Portfolio. They all look great and poised for growth.
Working on the next edition of The View From Houston, which will be sent out on Monday.
