Query: could the redeployment of capital away from West Africa lead to heightened interest in Sweet 16 for majors looking to build reserves? Oasis, Range, Cimarex all would be prime candidates.

Most of the Sweet 16 are prime takeover targets, especially at today's share prices. It would take big premiums to get any of them, because the boards will not approve any sales at these levels. On your list, OAS looks like the most likely candidate for a major wanting to get into the Bakken. RRC and XEC less likely, but everyone has a price.
