Post by wilmawatts »

Down from 24 to about 8 about 2 months down 17% today, down from over 30 a year ago.

At least this is one that I did not jump into with both feet. Then again, those I did jump into are getting plastered also

Shortly after you posted this, bargain hunters moved in. The Fed definitely helped.

Energy XXI's actual cash flow per share for the fiscal year that ended 6-30-2014 was $7.76.

Assuming $85 oil and $3.50 for natural gas, EXXI should generate cash flow per share this fiscal year of more than $6.50.
[Note that EXXI gets a premium to NYMEX for both their oil and gas production. Their realized prices for the quarter ending 6/30/2014 were $4.45/mcf for natural gas and $99.67/bbl for oil.]

Action today tells me there are a lot of eager bargain hunters lurking out there. All we need is some stability in crude oil prices. Of course, strong Q3 reports and an early cold wave would help as well.

that exxi action today ended with a hammer candlestick. this is a possible bullish candle, but requires an up day tomorrow.

every one of my watch list stocks had the same candlestick---could be for real, time will tell.

Global Hunter upgraded today to Buy from Neutral.

"Energy XXI (NASDAQ: EXXI; $6.63; Buy; $12.00 PT) Upgrading EXXI to Buy: there's no crying in the Denny Crane room

o Post our meeting with management, we feel compelled to come off the sidelines and defend the stock. EXXI is down ~66% since FQ4 earnings and trades below its PV10 value – not at $95 oil, but at $67 oil. The free-fall begs the question whether EXXI’s status as a “going concern” is in question, but we can't get EXXI to go bankrupt no matter how hard we try in excel."
