Light Stream Dividend LSTMF
Light Stream Dividend LSTMF
BIG FYI..... yield the dividend is converted from Canadian to American dollar so even though it shows .04, what we get is .035828 for a yield of like 16(still to bad); but its not the 20%......also there is no DRIP program...in light of this I am considering changing my yield strategy to lnco(12% plus and drip(deferred taxes)) or memp
Re: Light Stream Dividend LSTMF
Yes, everything reported by Lightstream (including the dividends) is in Canadian dollars.
LINE is an MLP and a large portion of the distributions is "tax deferred".
LNCO is a C-Corp, so the dividends are just regular taxable dividends.

Lightstream is really amazing... down another 9% as I write...
looks as if the combination of institutional selling with general selling for tax reasons and for switching into stocks whose dividend appears to be more sustainable, creates a share price that is just unbelievably low. It cannot go on like this much longer, imo.
Dan,
what is a realistic price at which a bid for Lightstream could be successful?

My valuation is $11.35Cdn per share. It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to their year-end reserve report.
What is so weird about this one is that the company got a much better price for their non-core asset sales than their goal and the market sold off on the news. Plus, the 3rd quarter results were actually fairly good. Take out the non-cash "Foreign exchange loss" and the EPS would be over $0.20. Operating cash flow per share was $0.65 in Q3 and should be over $0.55 in Q4 despite the lower production due to asset sales. They are producing free cash flow from operation and should be able to continue if WTI stays in the $80/bbl range.
It is very important to note that my forecast is in Canadian dollars. In Canadian Dollars, WTI is at closer to $90/bbl today.

Trading at less than 1 x CF. Make it stop.
Re: Light Stream Dividend LSTMF
so does the rising dollar act against the Canadian dollar act as a natural hedge helping Canadian companies?
