there have been a slew of them this week

blackrock has had several eg, pten, cpe, rrc, to name a few.

there have been several others by wellington and then some by individuals.

sign big money is getting back into the game early. i had read that some hedge funds were starting to buy---i imagine these 13g/a's are a part of this.

I was called this week by two publicly traded companies this week that asked me which companies I thought were good takeover targets. It has been several years since I got calls like this.
I believe we will see some VERY LARGE mergers announced in a couple months. ExxonMobil is definitely sniffing around. When proven reserves are cheaper on Wall Street than in the field, the Big Fish go after the Mid-Caps.
