Did you see that downgrade to sell on GPOR by GS?

GS apparently downgraded gassers(rrc, gpor, chk) and upgraded oilers(clr and nfx).

Goldman Likes Shale Oil, Worried on Natural Gas -- Market Talk
DOW JONES & COMPANY, INC. 10:10 AM ET 5/18/2015

11:10 EDT - As Goldman Sachs reviews its stance on the US oil patch, the investment bank adds to its calculations how much more productive shale-drilling activity is anticipated to get the rest of the decade. As such, the investment bank upgrades oil-focused Continental Resources (CLR) and Newfield (NFX) to buy for their shale exposure. But Goldman also made a number of downgrades, including dropping Chesapeake (CHK) and Range Resources(RRC) from buy amid expectations of continued weak natural-gas prices. Lowered to sell are Murphy (MUR) and Gulfport (GPOR) amid valuation concerns, among other factors. The quartet is down some 2% while CLR is little changed and NFX rises 2.4%. I am updating all of the Sweet 16 forecasts this week, so I will be taking a hard look at GPOR. Unlike GS, I am bullish on natural gas prices for 2016.

My "Fair Value Estimates" are what I believe each company's NAV (i.e. takeover price) is as of today. Therefore, I have a longer term outlook for commodity prices. An upstream company's value is the net present value of its recoverable reserves less debt. GPOR has a HUGE 3P reserve base. In addition to their outstanding leasehold position in the Utica Shale, they have HUGE oil reserves in Canada. Take the time to scan their current presentation (on their website) and you will see what I mean.

My updated profiles on RRC and NFX are now available on the website. I am finishing the update on CLR today.

One thing I am seeing from all of the Sweet 16 is a great job of lowering their drilling & completion costs and their operating expenses. Results of these efforts will show up in 2nd half results.
