So ENI has hit the mother lode of gas off the coast of Egypt. This follows the discovery of two big finds off the coast of Israel. Today, in SA, an author makes the case that this will really hurt our soon-to-be LNG exporters. I don't know if he is right or wrong, but I do wonder if these finds will hurt pq, et al. I also understand that the gas from these discoveries will not hit the mkt tomorrow but, again, I wonder if their existence could tamper down US prices.

I believe our exporters have sale contracts in place prior to construction.

If you look at the article (I think I read it in the article), at least a few of the LNG plants have already been cancelled. I wonder if there is any connection.

No, the gas offshore Egypt will take many years to develop. Plus, it will take them a decade to build LNG export capacity.
