BTW, several Wells Fargo employees are EPG members. No wonder they include several Sweet 16 in their Top Picks.

I am getting a "feeling" that a lot of money is sitting on the sidelines trying to time a move back into the energy sector. If you believe oil is going to stay under $50/bbl FOREVER, then the Sweet 16 stock prices are justified. If you believe that global oil supply/demand will eventually balance (which has happened during EVERY previous oil price cycle), then there is a ton of upside in these stocks.
Timing the market very difficult, especially since WTI seems to be trapped in the $44 to $46 range. Since late August, WTI has gone over $46 six times. Each time it has pulled back to $44.

Re: Wells Fargo's Top Picks
I'm happy to see EOG and GPOR on their list as I have positions currently. EOG was acting well until recently and GPOR has been a disappointment as it's bumping along the bottom. Any comment on those two or a catalyst that might help them?
Re: Wells Fargo's Top Picks
EOG is the largest company in the Sweet 16. It also has the most acreage in the Eagle Ford Shale of any company. It is in the top five in the Bakken.
GPOR is a "gasser". It is an incredible growth story. I'm expecting natural gas prices to improve in Q1, which should draw more investors to this one. GPOR holds some very good leasehold in the Utica Shale. It holds a 25% stake in a Canadian Oil Sands project that gives it exposure to higher oil prices in the future.
Both companies have very strong management teams.
