Weather does impact energy prices

You all need to take ten minutes to listen to Joe Bastardi's 9/26/2015 Saturday morning update at the link below.

Many forecaster are expecting a warmer than normal winter because we have a Super El Nino in the Pacific Ocean. Joe is a weather historian. He points out that strong El Nino winters do start with warmer than normal Decembers, BUT then the January to March period turns very cold with big winter storms tracking from Texas to New York. This is why I am taking a hard look at several "gassers" and I want to add more exposure to gas in our model portfolios. Things are shaping up for a much tighter U.S. gas market in six months.

He is now saying that after a rather mild September we will see some "brisk" fall weather in October for the eastern half of the U.S.

Near-term: Topical Storm Ida is now coming across the Atlantic and could hit the eastern seaboard as a hurricane in 7-10 days. We could see up to 3 inches of rain in the Houston area on Sunday & Monday. A depression hits Galveston tonight.
