Natural Gas Storage Report - October 15

Post by dan_s »

Working gas in storage was 3,733 Bcf as of Friday, October 9, 2015, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 100 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 447 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 168 Bcf above the 5-year average of 3,565 Bcf.

It looks like storage will end up around 4,000 Bcf by mid-November when draws for winter heating season begin. This is a bit above the 5-year average (3,805 Bcf). Keep in mind that daily demand for gas is much higher today than it was five years ago.
