SKE's pipelines service the heart of the Eagle Ford shale play. Higher oil prices will cause more drilling in the area they serve and bring more demand for capacity in their system. Simple as that.

Just so there is no confusion, I believe we are talking about about SXE (not SKE). Today had the feeling of a blow off top, with the shares dropping about 25% off the high of the day. Yet, I read it as buyers lying in the weeds willing to pay $3.60 for shares, and there was some decent volume at that level.

There has to be some anticipation of a dividend reinstatement coming in the upcoming conference call on Friday. That will be a high volatility moment...

On the call SXE deferred any reinstatement of the dividend to the board. They mentioned a number of times, the importance of reducing their debt level, and using DCF for that purpose. They did not close the door on a reinstatement at some level (they were asked point blank in the Q&A), but the tone was not encouraging. They are expecting to see reduced levels of production and therefore lower volumes, although Q1 predictions were not too bad.

And of course, the shares are currently down from a high near $3 just before the call, to $2.32 as of this writing.

Any further announcement, I would expect to come just before or during the Q1 conference call.
