Active Rig Count - July 15

North America's active rig count increased by 21 last week. Before you freak out, only one of those was a horizontal rig.

North America
> Rigs drilling for oil increased by 6 to 357, compared to 1,609 in October, 2014 and 638 a year ago.
> Rigs drilling for gas increased by 1 to 89, compared to 218 a year ago.

Canada
> Rigs drilling for oil increased by 7 to 44, compared to 98 a year ago.
> Rigs drilling for gas increased by 7 to 50, compared to 94 a year ago.

Weather does impact drilling activity in Canada. A lot cheaper to drill wells in the summer than in the winter up there.
