Weather forecasts for the balance of the month remain supportive and show above normal temperatures along the east coast, across the south and in the western US where the departures versus normal are most pronounced. Looking ahead to Thursday’s EIA storage report: the ICE storage market was offered this PM at 40 Bcf for the week ending July 15th. This compares to the 5-year average build of 59 Bcf.
I am expecting the weekly storage reports to show builds significantly below the 5-year average through at least September. Gas production in the Eagle Ford and Bakken is much lower than a year ago and demand for power generation and exports is much higher.
