No news. As of Friday, GeoResource was up over 28% YTD. My guess is that someone with a large block tightened up their stop loss order and the stock hit that price this morning, causing the big dip. Or they just want to harvest some profits, which is a good idea from time-to-time.

The share price quickly rebounded off the low so it should be fine. Someone got in at a nice price.

Dips like this are common for small-caps that are relatively thinly traded.

Check the "Sweet 16 Detailed Update" for my current thoughts on each company.

Today's chart for GeoResources is one of the weirdest I've every seen. This is why I hate to set stop loss orders. You get taken out of a good stock on a dip and by the time you find out it has rebounded.

GEOI and DNR are getting close to my Fair Value estimates (see the table on page 3 of yesterday's Sweet 16 Detailed Update). That doesn't mean you should sell. It just means that I need more information to justify a higher price. That info is just ahead. I believe both companies will be releasing 4th quarter results next week.

GPOR also had a nice move today but still a long way from my Fair Value estimate.

I would urge each of you to take a hard look at Petrominerales (PMG.TO). It has incredible near-term upside.

I talked to Robert Anderson last week. GeoResources will probabley host another EPG luncheon for us this year in April or May. They are very pleased to be in our Sweet 16 and thankful for all the free coverage they get from us. Really nice bunch of people up there (in north Houston).
