“Range is one of the lowest-cost producers of natural gas and liquids in the U.S.,” says Arun Jayaram, a JPMorgan energy analyst. “Liquids” are products such as ethane, propane, and oil that often are present in gas fields. “Range has the best asset base in the Marcellus, which is one of the lowest-cost natural-gas resources in the world,” adds Jayaram, who has an Overweight rating and a $46 price target on the stock.
Barron's: "Range Resources: An Unappreciated Energy Play" by Andrew Bary points out that shares of Fort Worth-based Range Resources Corp. (NYSE: RRC) have been pummeled by a warm winter and weak demand for natural gas.
