We just got power back on in our neighborhood in Sugar Land. We were without power for about 13 hours. Not too bad since it is rather cool outside.
We got about 9 inches of rain in our area last night and rain bans are still pounding us hard from time to time. Several tornados in our area last night, which was my major concern. One touched down in Sienna Plantation, which is the next big community to our southeast. Sugar Land remains under a tornado watch.
Harvey is now down to a Cat 1 and rotating to the west of Victoria, about 100 miles west of us. We are getting the most rain on the eastern side of the storm. Lots of flooding expected in the Houston area. Our retention pond (about two blocks from our home) is about half full, but water is still pouring into it. If the retention pond overflows then we begin to worry.
