Hurricane Harvey Update - Aug 31 at 6:00PM

Post by dan_s »

If you have been watching the Weather Channel, you know that Richmond, Texas has major flooding. Most of the city is under water. The Brazos River is flooding the entire area.

The National Weather Service has lowered the forecast for the Brazos River to crest at 55 ft and 7 inches, from 56 feet yesterday. This 5 inches may not sound like much to you, but we live in a neighborhood where the levee system was designed to protect us from a maximum of 55 feet. Every inch lower makes us feet better. The Brazos River is expected to crest on Friday.

EPG members have already committed to send over $6,000 to this charity: http://www.friendsofvince.com/

THANK YOU FOR STEPPING UP. YOUR GIVING WILL ACTUALLY SAVE LIVES.

Tina Sansone, wife of an EPG member, runs this charity. I will GUARANTEE YOU that 100% of the money sent to this charity will go to help the poor families in Richmond that have been flooded. Many families will loose EVERYTHING. They are in shelters with their children and only have the clothing they where wearing when they came to the shelter. Our church, River Pointe at https://www.riverpointe.org/ is in the Brazos River flood zone, but water has not entered the building. As soon as the river goes down, they will take in refuges.

BTW in addition to high water, the Brazos is home to a lot of gators and snakes.

Think for one minute what you would do if you lost EVERYTHING. Please send whatever you can to this charity.

Sam and Tina Sansone have more than four feet of water in their own home. Tina set up this charity to help children in Richmond five years ago when her own son died.
