Weather: Bullish outlook for the start of winter

Post by dan_s »

Snow storm in Denver today (10/9) and what's left of Nate is going to impact weather for a couple of days in New England. One more chance of a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico this weekend.

In Joe's "Saturday Summary" he discusses how an active hurricane season and "La Nina" may combine for a cold November in North America. If winter weather moves into the eastern half of the U.S. in November, it will be very bullish for natural gas prices.

Also, keep in mind that propane inventories are much lower than they were last year at this time. Propane is used throughout the Midwest in rural areas for space heating and for cooking. A cold winter in the Midwest should do wonders for NGL prices. There is also more industrial demand for NGLs this year and a lot more coming in 2018.
