In addition to the monthly newsletter and weekly podcast, we send out 15-20 individual company profiles each month. So, EPG members should be getting emails from us on a fairly regular basis, at least one per week.
Recently we have been getting notes from several members that they suddenly stopped getting emails from us.
We finally figured out why.
We are using a new internet mail service called "Mail Chimp". It is a very good and low cost way for us to distribute our publications. However, they are required by law to put a note at the bottom of each email we send allowing the receiver to "unsubscribe" and stop getting future emails from us.
We know that you don't want to unsubscribe, but if you forward an email (newsletter, podcast, profile) to a friend and they click on the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom it actually unsubscribes you. So..... (a) don't forward our emails or (b) if you want to share the newsletter, podcast or a profile with someone, send the report as a pdf attached to a new email from you.
BTW it does hurt us if you are forwarding our reports free to a list of friends because then they will never subscribe to our service. We are trying to make a living doing this. It is OK to share a report from time-to-time, but PLEASE don't be a mass distributor of our hard work. Thanks.
