EPG Membership

Post by dan_s »

Since 1-1-2018 we have added 26 new EPG memberships.

Joe Dancy, an EPG member and Executive Director of the Energy Department at Oklahoma University, was kind enough to post the following note on his LinkedIn page. He has more than 35,000 connections on LinkedIn. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/ur ... 5872585728

This summer we are allowing all WOMEN to attend our luncheons in Dallas and Houston for FREE. We need more women in this organization. It has worked because a few have signed up as members and I know several more at the end of the summer.

If you have friends that might be interested in our service, send them the link above. It includes a promo code that will give them $100 off the first year of their membership (for new members only).

We do appreciate your support.

Thanks, I appreciate your comment.

I recently spoke at the Mick Law Conference in Dallas and one of the attendees asked me what we did for our members. I told him about the newsletter, company profiles, weekly podcast and our luncheons in Dallas and Houston. After thinking about longer, I should have said that the real benefit for our members is that I do the due diligence work that investors should be doing before they make an investment.

Most individual investors base their "bets" on hunches, tips from friends or stuff they see on a television show. They don't even look at the company's fundamentals. How can anyone justify an investment in Tesla or Bitcoin? If the only forecasts you look at are from First Call, then you are basing investments on very old data. Fads like EVs, Bitcoin, biofuels, etc. are what I call "story stocks". If you get in early on a fad, you can make a ton of money. However, most people don't get in early enough.

Upsteam oil & gas companies definitely depend on the commodity price cycles, but management teams definitely have a lot to do with their company's long-term success. I am proud of the fact that all of our Sweet 16 companies survived one of the worse oil price cycles ever and they are now set to thrive during the rebound phase. The Wall Street Gang will eventually figure it out.
