We live in Sugar Land, Texas southwest of Houston. Yesterday, Feb 17 our power went off at 3AM and did not come back on until 11PM. With sub-freezing temperatures I decided to turn off the water as well. I reminded Susan that more than half the people in the world don't have reliable electricity and/or clean water piped to their home. Each time she told me to shut-up.

The power has been out all over Texas for several days because 99% of our wind and solar power went out and most of it will not be back online until next week. Plus, thousands of oil & gas wells froze off. Texas oil production is down at least a million barrels per day.
