Cimarex Energy names new CEO
Denver-based Cimarex (NYSE: XEC) -- the largest oil and gas company headquartered in Colorado -- said F.H. Merelli, who now holds those titles, will remain as chairman and focus his attention on long-term strategy.

Cimarex Energy also named Joseph Albi executive president and CFO. Albi and Jorden will join the company’s board of directors.

Merelli formed Key Production Co. in 1992 and Key, through a merger, became Cimarex Energy in 2002. Jorden started with Key in 1993. He most recently was executive president of exploration. Albi, who’s executive vice president of operations, joined Key in 1994.

Jorden and Albi are both graduates of the Colorado School of Mines
