EIA - Natural Gas Storage Report - May 12

Working gas in storage was 1,643 Bcf as of Friday, May 6, 2022, according to EIA estimates.
This represents a net increase of 76 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 376 Bcf less than last year at this time and 312 Bcf below the five-year average of 1,955 Bcf.
At 1,643 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.

Bottomline: The deficit to the 5-year average keeps growing. Unless we see MUCH LARGER weekly builds in May (now highly unlikely) it will be impossible to rebuild storage back to the 5-year average by November AND keep LNG exports near capacity.
