It takes approximately 7.7 million BTUs of natural gas to produce a megawatt-hour of power. Thus, $100 a pop projects a ceiling natural gas price of $13 per million BTUs—roughly the current energy equilibrium value of 1/6th the price of oil as measured in barrels. It is also the price of landed LNG in Europe as of the time of this writing."
