Working gas in storage was 2,953 Bcf as of Friday, June 27, 2025, according to EIA estimates.
This represents a net increase of 55 Bcf from the previous week. < First build less than the 5-year average after ten straight weeks of builds larger than the 5-year average.
Stocks were 176 Bcf less than last year at this time and 173 Bcf above the five-year average of 2,780 Bcf.
At 2,953 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.
By mid-November the amount of natural gas in storage needs to be higher than what it was last year. Demand for U.S. natural gas is going up about 5 Bcfpd each year, thanks to LNG exports and relentless increasing demand for power generation.
