What gives?
What gives?
Markets up 175 pts, Oil prices are up, but we are down. What's going on? Doesn't compute.
Re: What gives?
harsh weather in nd and permian hurts production.
but, that doesn't explain EXXI.

Re: What gives?
Sometimes the market doesn't make sense in the short run. I am back from vacation and will take a hard look are the portfolio companies tomorrow. The interns have been busy and I have several company profiles to finish this week.

I second that, if you've got an idea of what's driving this drop I'd love to hear it. Getting pretty brutal out there
though WTI is sitting pretty.
Thank you.

Re: What gives?
I live in Montana. A couple of hundred miles from the Bakken. It has been brutally cold here. A whole week of below zero temps. Actual temps -25 to -35. With the wind blowing the wind chill is even colder. No way anyone is working outside. My neighbor works in the Bakken. He has been home all week. Temps are suppose to be back in the 20's to 30's for the highs later this week. I suppose the perception is that this will greatly affect production and that affects the price of the stock.
Re: What gives?
If you get back to the 20s and 30s in Montana you might lose the title of the coldest area of the country to Upper Wisconsin should these 6-10 and 8-14 day temperature maps from NOAA prove correct:

Re: What gives?
In our newspaper this morning. "Northwestern Energy broke a 41-year-old record for natural gas delivery on Friday as customers across the state consumed 302 million cubic feet of natural gas." This is happening all across the country. Dan maybe right. $4.50 natural gas on the horizon.
