We forget how lucky we are

The note below was sent to me by one of our current SMU MBA Student Interns. He is from China. He recently passed the CPA exam and he as gotten a job in Oklahoma City with a regional CPA firm. I wanted to post this because we need to be reminded how blessed we are to be Americans. - Dan

Dear Mr. Dan,

My way to get a Visa job is not as easy as others. I cherished it a lot and appreciated what this great country helped me to change my fate and status quo.

I realized in US, people are not talking much about serving the country as what China propaganda does. But I believe American really love their country from their bottom of heart. I think finally I will be a citizen. I appreciate and hold many values USA believes. Because I know what life is without freedom and correct social system, it is why I believe I love this country more than many American.

Please help me to know what I can contribute more to this great country and its great people.

I am so blessed to be able to work with the outstanding young people in our intern program. We currently have seven interns, six from SMU and one from Rice.
Part of my "mission" is to get these young men and women turned on to careers in the energy sector. This industry is vital to America and to the world.
SMU has an outstanding energy program. Several professors in their MBA program and their law school are now EPG members.
