Hemisphere Energy Corporation is a Canadian oil and gas upstream company with production operations in Alberta.
The company is focused on increasing oil production and reserves. Hemisphere’s experienced team is dedicated to creating shareholder value through executing strategic acquisitions and farm-ins that provide low-risk drilling opportunities. Hemisphere’s core operations are in the Jenner and Atlee Buffalo areas in southeast Alberta. Second quarter production was 1,053 boe/d (96% oil), a 76% increase over the second quarter of 2017. Since the end of the 2nd quarter, Hemisphere has increased production to over 1,250 boe/d.

Houston based Cibolo Energy Partners is a private equity firm that has committed the funding necessary to ramp up Hemisphere’s production in the Atlee Buffalo area.

Atlee Buffalo was purchased by Hemisphere from Pengrowth several years ago at a reserve recovery estimate of 5% of the original oil in place (“OOIP”). Hemisphere Energy management now estimates that their waterflood will optimize the asset to recover 25% to 35% of the OOIP. From production today of approximately 1,250 boepd. Hemisphere now has a runway to increase production towards the 3,000 boepd range, which is typically the monetization threshold for Canadian Juniors.
