140 mph winds will cause $Billions of damage on the coast, but the flooding is the most deadly. GET OUT now if you live in Eastern North Carolina.

Spot on Dan, get out now while you can. I get that people don't want to leave. But as someone who lives on the MS Gulf Coast who fled Katrina for high ground and am happy I did, I could fill this board with stories of those we knew who perished after the sheriff begged them to leave, others ended up swimming in hurricane storm surge with their families.
It's hard to leave your home and possessions. But this monster looks super scary. LEO and first responders from all over the Nation will rush to the area asap and keep order. Besides, if this hits with it's fury the area will be a dirty water soaked trashed stone age place. I hope I am totally wrong. Leave.

It now looks like Florence will pound the coast of North Carolina for up to 48 hours. If wind are over 120 mph, most structures within a few miles of the coast will be destroyed.
Joe now predicts that it will turn south and go all the way down the coast to Georgia before actual landfall of the eye. It will then turn north and drop several FEET of rain over a wide area, maybe all the way to New York. Damage from flooding will be over $1Billion. NEVER DRIVE INTO RUSHING WATER. < This is how most death occur.
If you live on the east coast from Georgia to New York, PLEASE take this seriously. Susan & I lived through Harvey last year and it was terrible despite the fact that we had minimal damage.
