Working gas in storage was 2,634 Bcf as of Friday, June 9, 2023, according to EIA estimates.
This represents a net increase of 84 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 552 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 353 Bcf above the five-year average of 2,281 Bcf.
At 2,634 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.
Over the last 13 weeks (a quarter of the year) net storage builds were 57 Bcf lower than the five-year average.
With the number of active drilling rigs in the natural gas plays falling and temperatures in the South rising, we should see lower than normal storage builds through the summer.
