TULSA, Okla., July 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In conjunction with Helmerich & Payne, Inc.'s (HP) third quarter earnings release, you are invited to listen to its conference call that will be broadcast live over the Internet on Friday, July 27, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. (ET) with Hans Helmerich, Chairman and CEO; John Lindsay, Executive Vice President and COO; and Juan Pablo Tardio, Vice President and CFO.

When I graduated from Tulsa University in 1976, I went to work for Arthur Andersen. As a staff person in Tax Department I was assigned to work on Helmerich & Payne's account. Han Helmerich was a young man at the time and I prepared his individual tax return. H&P was a very respected company then and it is a world class organization today, a tribute to the Helmerich Family.

HP has a very high percentage of its rigs on long-term contracts and it is on-track to have much higher EPS this year and again next year (no matter what commodity prices do).

We will update our profile on the company after their earning report.
