Because the oceans are cooling. Watch the Saturday summary here: https://www.weatherbell.com/premium/
The Atlantic Ocean is significantly cooler than a year ago because of a decline in geothermal activity in the area up the middle of the Atlantic Ocean where the European and North America tectonic plates are pulling apart.
CO2, which is a trace gas (less than 500 parts per 1,000,000) of the Earth's atmosphere, has not been and will not be an "existential" threat to human life.

Re: Why has FEAR of Global Warming faded?
Why? Silicon Valley crowd has faced the issue that Windmills and Solar Panels can't supply the electricity for data centers. Any just like that, the alarmists stopped. Dan, what you are saying is perfectly logical, but that would not have swayed the alarmists. Data centers have brought the folks to their senses. Nuclear is now back on the agenda. Generation IV nuclear technology is safe and can run on spent fuel. Japan and France are now recycling nuclear waste.
From the video below, they make the point that if you were stack ALL the nuclear waste generated in the US, it would fill a football ball and top off at the tops of the goal posts (30 feet): Very informative video (5 minutes). Have to admit, was ignorant of the storage, more in line with the Simpson's View discussed in the video: https://youtu.be/Mw-S9UgrfNY
