Back from Vegas

Susan & I are home from the wedding in Vegas. Thanks to all of those who sent notes to congratulate us. Dr. Clark Steffens (a dentist in Dallas) got hitched to Stephanie Drake from New York. So we now have a Stephanie Steffens in the family. She is a beautiful young lady and a great match for our son.

Being around smart young people is always a thrill for me. The reception at Canyon Gate Country Club was fantastic. I got to see a friend of Clark's that grew up with him in Tulsa and was on soccer teams that I coached for four years. I had not seen him in over ten years. He told me (after several drinks) that me kicking his ass at soccer practice is what made him a good student and successful in life. Believe me, my coaching method was borderline child abuse but I had parents begging me to get their kids on my select team (winning helped). Those were the days and it was a nice gift to get a "Thank You" from a former player who BTW is now a very successful financial analyst.

Back in the saddle now, so I will check up on all of the Sweet 16 tomorrow.
