Working gas in storage was 3,440 Bcf as of Friday, September 18, 2015, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 106 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 466 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 148 Bcf above the 5-year average of 3,292 Bcf.

Storage is on-track to reach 4,000 Bcf before winter heating season starts. 5-year average is just over 3,800 Bcf. This is bearish, but the number of homes that use gas for space heating increases each year.
