BP Energy Outlook 2030

BP has just released their forecasts for energy sources and utilization through 2030. A few key points:
o Population to increase by 1.4B to around 7B
o World energy consumption up 39% from 2010 to 2030 (1.7% pa) compared to 45% in past 20 years
o In 2030 the three fossil fuels will each contribute around 26-27%
o Hydro, nuclear and renewables (including biofuels) each around 7%
The report is 80 pages and well worth looking at, whether you agree with the forecasts or not.

The International Energy Agency raised its 2011 global crude oil demand forecast for a fourth month as the economic recovery gathers momentum.

OPEC’s compliance with record supply cuts dropped last month as the producer group boosted output to the highest level since December 2008, the International Energy Agency said.
