When ete said they would acquire Williams the stock took a hit. Yesterday the news was that the deal may crash, and the stock took a big hit. Have you any idea what is going on here?

The insiders recently bought about $42mm of ete, and I think they are pretty savvy guys. Makes you scratch your head.

The least negative reason I can imagine is that people bailing out of midstream etf's like Alerian have caused much of the selling in ETE. One would think the insider buying is positive but then Harold Hamm monetized his hedges at $80 oil.
