The active rig count in North America is now at the lowest level in over 100 years.
The North American active rig count declined by 40 to 578, compared to 1,345 a year ago.
United States:
> Rigs drilling for oil declined by 6 to 386, compared to the peak of 1,609 in October, 2014 and 866 a year ago.
> Rigs drilling for gas declined by 3 to 94, compared to 257 a year ago.
> Texas rig count dropped by 12 to 215, compared to 501 a year ago.
This is the 12th straight week of decline.
