The North American active rig count increased by 22 to 564, compared to 1,076 a year-ago.

United States:
> The number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 14 to 371, compared to 659 a year ago and 1,609 in October, 2014.
> The number of rigs drilling for gas declined by 1 to 88, compared to 216 a year ago.

Canada:
> Rigs drilling for oil increased by 4 to 43, compared to 98 a year ago.
> Rigs drilling for gas increased by 3 to 53, compared to 102 a year ago.
