Natural Gas Storage Report - March 30

Post by dan_s »

Working gas in storage was 2,049 Bcf as of Friday, March 24, 2017, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decrease of 43 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 423 Bcf less than last year at this time and 250 Bcf above the five-year average of 1,799 Bcf. At 2,049 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.

Demand to refile storage will be 2 Bcfpd higher this year than it was last year.

U.S. gas production is down ~2.5 Bcfpd from a year ago.

Demand for gas is going up about 2.5 Bcfpd in 2017 (not including storage refill)

This all adds to a MUCH TIGHTER U.S. gas market than a year-ago.
